Assisting small and marginal farmers by strengthening FPO in Punjab
PAGREXCO has a significant role in advancing and supporting the agriculture
sector in Punjab by implementing the FPO Policy in Punjab with PAU, Ludhiana.
PAGREXCO acts as a State Nodal Agency (SNA) for implementing and
strengthening the FPO policy in Punjab.

Objectives of the formation of FPO

  • Support the selection of appropriate crops suitable for their area and with market demand.
  • Provide access to modern technology through community-based processes to improve productivity and produce quality.
  • Facilitate access to new technologies to improve productivity, value addition of the produce, and market tie-ups.
  • Ensure access to quality inputs and services for improving agricultural production.
  • Help farmers strengthen their capacity for increasing productivity through best farming practices.
  • Help to link producers to the market to get fair prices for their produce.
